The Mind & It’s Mysteries

Ordinarily we believe that we are an entity name “I” who lives and resides in our physical body and to whom all experience is ultimately referred. – Will Johnson
Our first thought in encountering an experience is “how does this affect me?” The “I” is the center of our universe and everything revolves around us. Practice noticing this, e.g.: a traffic jam, a bank queue, a bill arrives, an extra guest to dinner, your daughter tells you she is moving out. Notice how we react, notice how we don’t feel safe and how we have to ‘fix’ things to make us feel comfortable again.
Simply practice noticing what is going on in your mind. This will give you an indication as to your level of awareness. See how identified you are.
The first (and last) identification is with your name and form. This takes place just before you turn two years of age. This identification with who you think you are now separates you from your Higher Self (and your Higher Mind) and you become your false identity and you begin to live in duality and become subjected to polarity – good/bad etc. By the time you are 16 you are not only your name, age, sex, you have now been programmed with your family’s genetic history, you have become a nationality and have adopted all (or most) the thought patterns of your family. All this has affected your level of consciousness and awareness.
Your level of awareness affects your decisions and how you see and react to life.
To let go, you have to KNOW.
