Are YOU Waking up?

WHO AM I? Has the question ever arisen in your mind? Who am I? Am I this body; this skeleton of bones; this flesh and blood? Am I this mind that thinks all day? Am I these feelings that sometimes control my life? Or am I that which looks through these eyes and evaluates what is seen? Am I this energy that empowers the tongue to speak?
A Minister was once heard to say at a funeral: “We sit here and look at this body of the dearly-beloved departed and acknowledge that he has gone, but whoever looks at the beautiful new body of a baby and acknowledges that someone has arrived?
What arrived and from where?
If you do acknowledge that we leave the body upon death, surely it is logical that we should acknowledge that we have come into the body when we are born. Come from where?
What exciting questions. They lead the mind on a hunt to the greatest discovery that we can ever make. That discovery is who we really are.
This is a discovery indeed. It can free us of all our limitations, stress and anxieties because it frees us from the most bonding and limiting idea on all, and that idea is that we think we are our bodies and personality. We think we are just this name; this function and this identification creates stress and we feel overburdened by all we have to do.
We wake up in the morning and believing that we are this body and mind we immediately take on the role we have to play that day. We become the role and take on its stresses. We have forgotten that it is a role we have to come to play. We become the role of wife, husband, mother, father, student, lover, employee, employer etc.. and each role we think we are takes enormous amounts of energy to maintain so by the end of the day we are exhausted.
As we have forgotten who we are, our whole lives become controlled by people’s ideas and beliefs not to mention our emotions. These things dictate to us, pull us around like puppets on a string often creating huge stress in our lives and only momentary pleasure.
So let us go back to our original question. WHO AM I? What arrived in this body when I was born? Ask yourself these wonderful questions, because as you do you will start to stand back and re-evaluate your life. You will start to detach yourself from all the pressures that are within you and release them.
If this question starts to haunt you; the next step is: how do I find out who I am? And this question takes you on the journey of a lifetime; a journey that is priceless. It is an adventure filled with excitement, happiness and joy. It is a journey that will unravel to you the reasons why you have felt lost, vulnerable and unloved. When you connect with who you really are, when you experience the I AM the ONE all fears are banished and only peace, love and contentment remain and you are connected to ALL that Is and you will live your life in a state of unchanging happiness.
GOOD HUNTING.
