One day I was staying in Swami’s ashram – it was many years ago now. On this particular day I noticed Swami collecting all the letters people had written to him. As I watched a realization came over me that people had expressed their needs in these letters and Swami was collecting all their troubles. I heard Swarmi say in my inner vision:
“I am the Collector. Give me your troubles. Don’t only give me your perfections but give me also all the things you do wrong.”
It felt like giving your dirty washing to Swarmi, for only He can cleanse you. He will rinse you clean with His Love.
I cried as I realized how hard I was working to fix “my mistakes” and that the ego can’t fix anything. I was hanging onto my “dirty washing” until it was clean enough to go before God. I realized He WANTS ALL of me, the good, the bad and the ugly to mold and shape into an image of Himself.
A realisation for ALL of us
